In the small neighborhood of Mount Paran, there is a tiny country store that has been open since 1906.

The Mount Paran Country Store is a hidden gem, and one of the very last country stores of the area.

On any given day, you will find visitors streaming in and out, whether grabbing a cup of coffee, filling gas tanks, or more commonly, snagging an inexpensive yet deliciously fresh sandwich.

That’s right, this small, wooden country store serves up sandwiches that people drive from all over to feast on—from burgers to pulled pork, and most popularly the fresh biscuit sandwich served in the mornings.

Every morning, around 5:30 a.m., the country store’s longtime chef Laverne and co-owner Mr. Pete Chevallier prepare nearly 100 biscuit sandwiches, which are wrapped up and set on the warmer for people to grab and go.
