Enjoy A Scenic Drive Along Georgia’s 6 Most Beautiful Roads

And that’s just counting going to work, not running errands and leisure activities. If you’re going to spend that much time in your automobile each day, you may as well choose a drive with some beautiful surroundings! Here are some of the prettiest drives in Georgia that are so gorgeous you might not even mind a traffic jam.
Coastal Highway 17 is one of the prettiest drives in Georgia. There's so much to do and see along this oak-filled route. The road starts in Charleston and doesn't end until Brunswick, so if you make a few slight detours, you can check out historic towns like Darien and Savannah.

The Cohutta Wilderness Loop will take you through some incredible areas of the state. This scenic preserve features 37,000 acres of nature, including parts of the Chattahoochee National Forest. You'll find the Consauga River here, along with some of our favorite hiking trails in Georgia.

This is another stunning part of the state! The route can vary depending on how much time you have, but a rambling route around Ellijay to Canton to Dahlonega works great, especially if you drive through the lovely Amicalola Falls State Park. This is another park with lots of great hiking trails, so get out and stretch your legs!

Take the drive from Fargo up to Stephen C. Foster State Park and be amazed at the beauty of the Okefenokee Swamp, one of the Peach State's natural wonders. This is a lovely drive that will take you to one of the best state parks in Georgia.

This 40-mile route runs through the Chattahoochee National Forest and is particularly glorious in the fall. Some of the highlights of the trip include Brasstown Bald, the Appalachian Trail, and the little town of Helen.

The South Fulton Scenic Byway is an odd trip because you're not very far from metropolitan Atlanta, but you'll drive through plenty of rolling hills and gorgeous pastoral scenery. The route is about 30 miles and will take you through Cochran Mill Park.
