The Pinhoti Trail is one of the most epic adventures in the South. The trail spans 335 miles through Alabama and Georgia, traversing through the difficult terrain of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Most of us might find exploring the entire hike a bit too much of a challenge, but fortunately, there are smaller segments of the Pinhoti Trail in Georgia that are quite manageable! If you’re looking for a moderate hike that won’t take all day, the Pinhoti South Trail is a grand adventure found in James H. (Sloppy) Floyd State Park near Summerville, GA.

The trail actually officially juts about a half-mile into the park, but it's interconnected with the park's trail system into a 3.7-mile loop.
