Ever watch the old TV show “Cheers” and dream of going to a place with that kind of atmosphere? That homey old wood paneling, the cozy vibe, the fun decor, everybody knowing your name… it all sounds magnificent and not like something you’d typically experience in a real-life restaurant. One spot where you can capture a feeling that’s pretty dang close is at Manuel’s Tavern in Atlanta. This old-school place may not be as flashy as newer, more colorful restaurants, but it sure is fun. It’s also one of the older family-owned restaurants in Georgia, having been locally-owned and operated since it opened up in 1956. Check it out:

Manuel's Tavern is named for its founder, Manuel Maloof. Maloof modeled the restaurant after British taverns he had visited while stationed there during World War II.
