Hard Labor Creek State Park in Georgia is a true seasonal gem that becomes quite the hotspot during the month of October.
Featuring two different campgrounds, each with their own front-row seat to fall foliage, there is another reason entirely that people flock to this park.
Do you remember the Friday the 13th series featuring serial killer Jason Voorhees? Well, one film in the franchise was actually filmed at this state park!
In 1986, Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives was filmed right here in Hard Creek Labor State Park, creating a spooky and surreal backdrop for this slasher film.
In case you haven’t seen the film, Jason Voorhees comes back from the dead to target camp counselors at what has been dubbed “Camp Forest Green” which is actually Camp Daniel Morgan in the park.
While the campground and the state park are not at all as scary in real life as showcased in the film, once the sun sets, you’ll still be out there…all alone…
