The Shirley Miller Wildflower Trail in Georgia is less than a mile down and back but features some pretty phenomenal spots along the way.
Who knew that only a mile hike could pack such a scenic punch?! But this trail delivers.
Wander through Chickamauga, Georgia, and enjoy the boardwalk, spectacular waterfalls, and close to 50 different varieties of flowers.
A few of the stunning wildflowers that you’ll find include the Bloodroot, Bluebells, Four-leaved Milkweed, Hooked Buttercup, Purple Phacelia, Wild Stonecrop, Wood Poppy, and Yellow Mandarin.
If you’re feeling like the one-mile loop down and back isn’t as much of a challenge as you would like, then try the Pocket Loop Trail off of this wildflower trail for a 9-mile break which will take you to the highest point on Pigeon Mountain.
Be advised, however, that this trail is on private property, which means that before you go you need to obtain a Go Outdoors Georgia Hunting, Fishing, or Lands Pass License.
Don’t worry, obtaining the pass online is easy and you’ll be traipsing along the wildflower trail in no time.
