It’s usually around this time of year when Georgians plan for some seriously fun outdoor excursions. But with so many wonderful parks, nature trails, preserves, and otherwise—where should you go if you want to have a weekend fueled by adventure and nature? Easy—Cloudland Canyon State Park. Located in the northwest of Georgia on the edge of Lookout Mountain, enjoy a weekend away at one of the most spectacular state parks in Georgia.
There is so much to do in Cloudland Canyon State Park that it’s hard to fit everything into one weekend away.
Start by choosing the weekend away on your calendar, and then making a reservation for a campsite at one of the cottages, yurts, tent, trailer or RV campsites, or the backcountry campsites available throughout the park.
After getting settled in at your campsite, start planning for your next adventure, which will likely be exploring the state park on foot.
There are over 60 miles of trails throughout Cloudland Canyon, plus 16 miles of horseback riding trails to choose from.
You can also play disc golf on the course located inside the park, which only costs $4 per person, per round.
Fishing is also a fun weekend activity within the park, just make sure you have the appropriate fishing licensure before you cast your reel.
If you’re an avid biker you can choose to hit the 30 miles of trails for an epic and challenging experience.
Geocaching is another fun way to explore the state park which not too many visitors are familiar with.
No matter what adventure you lean more towards, Cloudland Canyon is the place to enjoy it all.
