Is there another Hallmark town in Georgia to visit during the holidays?

The town of Helen is another Hallmark-esque Christmas town, except it was actually chosen as the setting for a Lifetime Channel Christmas movie, A Taste of Christmas, in 2020. Even outside of the holiday season, this town is so charming, a mountain town known for its vineyards and Bavarian-style villages. You can get the perfect, Instagram-worthy holiday photo while there by the humongous Christmas tree. 

What are the best holiday events in Georgia?

Some of the best events for celebrating the holiday season in the state are:

  • The annual Downtown Parade of Lights in Athens is a truly unique parade experience where Georgians may submit their entries to build and decorate their own floats with the best float winning a cash prize plus the honor of a memorable plaque.
  • One of the Christmas festivals such as Victorian Christmas in Thomasville, where there will be carriage rides, entertainment, a live nativity, food, and more.
  • While not really an event, it would not be Christmas without mailing your wish list to Santa, which you can do at the red mailbox for Santa in none other than Santa Claus, Georgia. Yes, you read that right!

At Hunters’ Christmas Tree Farm in Alpharetta, you can see Santa while getting your Christmas tree!
