During the holiday season, I am always searching for activities to get me in the holiday spirit. And if you're anything like me, you are, too! Luckily, I found the ultimate Christmas experience in the Peach State that is straight out of a Hallmark movie. Dahlonega’s Old-Fashioned Christmas is one of the most festive holiday events in Georgia. This month-long celebration highlights the beauty and charm of this small town, with an emphasis on spending an exciting Christmas season! 

With family-friendly activities starting at the end of November and lasting through the first week in January and storefronts all decked out with Christmas decor, it’s easy to see why this charming town is a favorite holiday destination in Georgia. Dahlonega’s Old-Fashioned Christmas is an annual event in Georgia that is practically straight out of a Hallmark Movie. All of the businesses in the area get in on the magic, with so much holiday spirit. The storefronts will be festive and filled with lots of holiday cheer.

This month-long festival features a bevy of local events and activities, from themed nights to all-ages festivities, and beyond. What kicks off with the lighting of the square in November continues with food trucks, art markets, carriage rides, and so much more.

I especially enjoy the live entertainment and movie nights at the iconic Holly Theatre. Be sure to take the kids to Candy Cane Kid’s Day at Hancock Park, where they'll have fun creating arts and crafts, playing games, and getting their faces painted. You and the family will have a blast strolling the sidewalks and seeing the Festival of Trees, which features colorfully decorated trees sponsored and decorated by local community members.

Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy the fun, as adults can enjoy touring the tasting rooms while the kids can sign up to visit Santa Claus! Of course, there will be lots of opportunities to snap pics to remember your time at this festive holiday event.
