Cartecay River Loop In Georgia Was One Of The First Mountain Biking Trails In The State – And It’s Still A Rugged Ride
While we usually focus more on hiking trails in Georgia, we can’t forget about those trails that are world-class for mountain bikers, too. Running alongside the Cartecay River in Georgia is a set of mixed-use trails that offer some of the most beautiful natural views in Ellijay. Clocking in at 3.5-miles for hikers and six miles in length for bikers, come step outdoors for a few hours on the Cartecay River Loop in Georgia.
With different trail options available, hikers can head out for a 3.5-mile trek, while mountain bikers can go a different route for six miles of mostly single-track trail.
Hikers and bikers will both be able to enjoy the twists and turns through nature, the densely forested pathways, and views of the rushing Cartecay River.
Bikers may find pockets of this trail challenging, with elevation shifts, roots, and rocks. However, riding through the fields or crossing creeks makes everything worth it.
