You don't need to hike the entire almost-12 mile trail to experience all the seasonal wonder. This loaded hike features some of the best parts about this state, not to mention an impressive waterfall view to boot.

The Appalachian Trail to the Blood Mountain summit is one of the most beautiful hikes in Georgia no matter the time of year. You'll need to be prepared for one heck-of-a-hike though because the elevation gains are quite intense, especially through freshly fallen snow.

One of the lower elevation trails at Blood Mountain is the Byron Reece Trail. Here, you'll be able to see the thick, snow covered tree trunks and hear nothing but the sound of nature, and fresh snow underfoot.

Springer Mountain has some incredible summit views once you reach the top. The most popular hike, of course, is the Appalachian, but really if you choose any one of the trails though to traipse through, you won't be disappointed. Especially after freshly fallen snow.

The Pratt-Pullman yard has a rich history and incredible graffiti throughout the abandoned yard. Once you witness the beautiful colors, mixed with the crisp, white snow you'll never be able to look at the abandoned train yard again the same.

Hiking the Indians Seats Trail in Sawnee Mountain Preserve will take you through all the best parts of the area, plus lead you to a killer overlook. After a nice snowfall, take your camera and your boots and see what this winter wonderland is all about.

The good news about this hike—it's not too strenuous. In fact, this is the type of trail you can walk at a leisurely pace, simply to enjoy breathing in the cool air and getting in some much needed exercise.

Once the snow blankets the state, you'll want to hike to the top of a mountain to see just how beautiful it is. Stone Mountain is that place. The views are incredible, perfectly snow-crested as far as the eye can see.
