The restaurant is an old train cart on one side with a second room that was added over the years. The railroad cart ran from 1896 to 1912 and found a new purpose in 1926 as a restaurant. It closed temporarily but re-opened in June 2015. In fact, a former customer became the new owner.
The restaurant is decorated with authentic railroad memorabilia. Even today, the restaurant still maintains its original historical character and charm.
The Luxury Diner serves breakfast and lunch and is open daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Breakfast is served all day.
The Luxury Diner serves inexpensive food with an Americana flair. Their food is considered cowboy food for those with a very large appetite. The food is absolutely delicious, served in large portions and made from scratch.
One of their specialties is the biscuits and gravy. The sausage gravy is, hands down, the best in the state.
Some of the other menu items include pancakes, German sausage, chile cheese burritos and chicken fried steak. And of course, their old standards on the menu are named using railroad terms like 'the Conductor' and 'Caboose'.
