The Star Lake Store is tucked into the little town of Star Lake. It’s an unincorporated town on the north side of Star Lake in the Town of Plum Lake.

Star Lake started as a bustling logging town in 1894, when a railroad came to town and a lumber mill opened. The boom was short lived – the mill closed and logging operations left.

The Star Lake Store originally opened in 1895 as a logging company store. It evolved to serve seasonal visitors like anglers and hikers – the store is surrounded by the Northern Highland, American Legion State Forest, the largest state forest in Wisconsin.

The store includes a seasonal; Catch-A-Cup Coffee Shop that’s a perfect place for a quick breakfast before you head out on the water.

The shop will help you get well caffeinated – it serves a selection of espresso, mocha and iced coffee, smoothies, and more. The shop also serves ice cream and other sweet items.
