At the end of the day, there’s a little shop that will keep you well-fueled. The Crappie Shop in Arena, WI is a rural oasis with a great selection of hot snacks – here’s what’s waiting for you at one of the best general stores in Wisconsin.

Arena is a small village located in Iowa County, in the southwestern part of Wisconsin. It’s a gateway to the Driftless Area, a region known for its unique topography that's untouched by glaciers.

Arena is just 30 minutes from Madison but it feels a world away. It’s surrounded by rich farmland and it’s close to the Wisconsin River.

While finding provisions can be a challenge in small towns, the shop has you covered. It’s right on the highway and it offers a big selection of groceries, fresh meat, pet supplies, bait and tackle, cold beer, wine, and liquor.

If you’re camping in the area or are ravenous after a day on the river, this little store is a Godsend. It offers fresh and hot carry-out food that’s just what you need.

Order a hot chicken or fish dinner, a fresh-baked pizza, a hot or cold pizza, or a tasty appetizer like cheese curds, fries, mini tacos, or onion rings. They even have salad!

If you have any room for dessert – enjoy a soft serve cone. Or maybe pick up some beer for the cabin. There’s nothing crappy about the crappie shop!
