You’ll Love These 7 Eateries Located Minutes From Washington’s Finest Trails

There's no doubt about it: Hiking is hard work. And it often leaves you feeling quite hungry. Luckily, some of our most beautiful hiking trails happen to be close to some seriously scrumptious restaurants. These are a few of our favorite places to fuel up after a hike here in Washington.

1. Milano's, 9990 Mt. Baker Hwy, Glacier

Not only is this charming Italian eatery close to quite a few of Mt. Baker's trails, the food is absolutely outstanding. And while you're welcome to shower and change before your meal, the fine-dining-in-a-casual-setting environment will welcome you just as you are. This is also the perfect place to load up on carbs before a lengthy hike, as long as you take it easy on the wine list.

2. Scott's Dairy Freeze, 234 E. North Bend Way, North Bend

Sometimes, after a long trek through the mountains, all you need is to sink your teeth into a juicy burger (or some fish and chips). If you're exploring any trails near North Bend or Snoqualmie Pass, Scott's Dairy Freeze is the perfect reward.

3. XXX Root Beer Drive-In, 98 NE Gilman Blvd., Issaquah

Speaking of tasty burgers, you'll find plenty -- along with root beer and some of the best shakes on the planet -- at XXX in Issaquah. And after a long hike at Tiger Mountain, you'll need it all.

4. Sultan Bakery, Highway 2, Sultan

If you're hiking on Stevens Pass, this beloved locals' hangout will become a fast favorite. They serve the heartiest breakfasts imaginable, complete with freshly baked cinnamon rolls to die for. It's a perfect stop either before or after a hike.

5. Next Door Gastropub, 113 West 1st St, Ste A, Port Angeles

The Olympic Peninsula has some of the most diverse hikes in the state, and Port Angeles is the perfect place to spend the night after exploring your favorite trails. This gastropub is known for its unique burgers and other American classics.

6. Three Rivers Resort Restaurant, 7765 La Push Road, La Push

Speaking of the Olympic Peninsula... no coastal hike would be complete without a meal at Three Rivers. Between the Twilight decor and the friendly service, you'll be smitten (and full).

7. Zeke's Drive In, 43918 State Route 2, Gold Bar

Zeke's is conveniently located along Highway 2, so you'll probably pass it if you're hiking Bridal Veil Falls or one of the other trails near Gold Bar. They sell pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and all things deep fried and delicious.

We've got some pretty intense hiking trails here in Washington, so it's no wonder we work up an appetite on them. These scenic trails are well worth the effort.
