The Quirkiest Restaurant In Washington That’s Impossible Not To Love

There are certain restaurants within our state that you have to absolutely try at least once, and one of them is right off of Highway 101. Impossible not to grab your attention, here's the quirkiest restaurant in our state that's simply impossible not to love!

Immediately catching your eye along Highway 101, Fat Smitty's can be found out in the city of Port Townsend.

From wooden baseball bats to burgers and utensils, the outward appearance of Fat Smitty's is something that isn't easily missed.

The quirky characteristics only get better once you walk through the door, where you'll be greeted by a room covered in dollar bills!

Way back in the early 1980's the strange tradition of covering the restaurant in dollar bills all started with one random customer. Sometime around 1985, a salesman took his business card and one dollar bill and tacked it onto the wall at Fat Smitty's. It didn't take long for the unusual phenomena to occur, slowly but surely covering the restaurant in dollar bills over the years.

Back in 2012 it finally came time to take down all of the dollar bills that were covering Fat Smitty's, any guesses as to how much money was decorating the place?

Going once, going twice! After all of the dollar bills were collected off of the walls thanks to the help of the local Boy Scout troop, Fat Smitty's found themselves with a grand total of $10, 316 dollars! A larger number than they ever imagined. All but 3,000 dollars of it was donated to the local Boy Scouts camp in Brinnon, with the remaining money being donated to the St. Jude's Children's Research Center in Memphis, Tennessee!

Now let's talk about their menu. First thing's first: you'll want to make your beverage of choice their Blackberry Milkshake!

Fat Smitty's offers Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry milkshakes that all taste like heaven, but it's their Blackberry milkshake that will really blow your taste buds out of the water.
