There’s A Texas-Style Roadhouse Hiding In Washington, And It’s Fantastic

Jimmy Mac’s Roadhouse in Washington offers a Texas-style dining experience with delicious steaks and a nostalgic atmosphere.

Traditionally, a roadhouse is a casual roadside restaurant, often found a long highways in rural areas. Obviously, these eateries are popular in Texas, hence the name of a certain nationwide chain restaurant. But did you know we have a Texas-style roadhouse right here in Washington? If not, allow us to introduce Jimmy Mac's Roadhouse.

There are two Jimmy Mac’s Roadhouse locations, one in Federal Way (pictured here) and one in Renton.

Both locations resemble Texas-style diners you might find on a Lone Star State Highway in the 1950s.

The hardwood floors in the dining room typically have peanut shells on them from the "appetizer" you'll get at your table.

Vintage signs, license plates, and Texas memorabilia decorate the walls.

The lunch and dinner menus differ slightly, but there's one common theme: delicious corn-fed steak.

Whether you go for a classic sirloin or a giant Texas Filet, you won't be disappointed.

Start your meal off with some tasty onion rings and work your way up to a main course of steak, crab cakes, or fish & chips.

Wash it all down with an ice cold beer or specially crafted cocktail, if you imbibe.

Both locations have a hickory smoker, which produces the best pulled pork on the planet (or at least comparable).

Try a pulled pork sandwich or some BBQ baby back ribs for a true Texas experience.

Of course, the burgers and sandwiches are also worth considering, and you'll find them on the lunch menu as well.

Just save some room for the famous yeast rolls, which are served fresh from the oven.

Jimmy Mac's Roadhouse is open daily at 11 a.m., serving lunch and dinner until 8 p.m. (9 on the weekends).

Their entire menu is available for takeout until we can dine together again.
