We're always excited when we see new restaurants, bars, and other businesses opening here in Washington. But sometimes, nothing beats discovering an old school eatery that has been around for decades, or visiting a tried-and-true neighborhood gem for the 50th time, knowing whatever you order will be delicious.
Depending on what part of the state you call home, The Net Drive-In in Mount Vernon could be considered both. And if you have yet to visit this roadside stand, check it out the next time you're in Skagit County.
The Net Drive-In is located on Washington State Route 536 in Mount Vernon.
This little roadside stand has been a local favorite since it opened in 1955.
There's no indoor seating or full service here—and you won't need it.
Simply drive up, order your meal, and go, or enjoy it at one of the few outdoor tables.
At The Net, the food is always made fresh, and you'll definitely be able to taste the difference.
This isn't true "fast food," but it's worth waiting a few extra minutes to sink your teeth into a freshly made burger.
Obviously, the burgers are the star of the show here, and they range from simple cheeseburgers to deliciously complex specials...
... but don't be afraid to try some of the tasty fried seafood.
From clam strips and fries to fish & chips, you'll find as much seafood here as you will beef and chicken. Want to try a little bit of everything? Order the Captain's Plate.
Another thing this place is famous for: perfect onion rings.
The fries are fantastic, but the onion rings are truly irresistible.
The Net Drive-In is open all year long, so you'll have plenty of chances to give them a try.
Come see why this unassuming little spot has so much power.
Have you ever had a burger or fried seafood from The Net?
