1. Sweetwaters - 120 Church Street, Burlington

Sweetwaters is located in the original site of the Burlington Trust Company, which was built in the 1880s. Today the building retains its original molding, cornerstone, clock, and other architectural appointments. The former bank vaults have been converted into walk-in coolers in the lowest level of the restaurant and the original door with the Burlington Trust Company’s name has been incorporated into the design and can now be found between the ladies’ and men’s rooms downstairs. The food is fantastic too!

2. Wayside Restaurant - 1873 US Route 302, Montpelier

Effie Ballou opened the Wayside in 1918 and she used to prepare some of the food at her house on the hill and bring it down to her roadside eatery. Today the goal of the Wayside is to maintain the tradition of "Value & Variety" so their loyal patrons can enjoy "Home Cooking Away From Home" for many years to come. They may have been around for a while, but they were recognized as Montpelier’s first "Green Restaurant," and the homemade rolls are out of this world.

3. Dot’s Restaurant - 3 West Main Street, Wilmington

Dots has been called a "National Treasure" by Gourmet Magazine, but the locals have kept this treasure alive. Dot's was devastated by Tropical Storm Irene and the locals all pitched in to continue the legacy of this favorite diner.
