The Most Mouthwatering Burger in Vermont Is Waiting for You at Worthy Burger

Where can you find Vermont’s best burger? Only In Your State readers voted Worthy Burger as their top pick!

Vermont may be known for its rich cheddar cheese and authentic maple syrup, but the people of the Green Mountain State also know how to cook up a mouthwatering burger. There are lots of great places to grab a delicious patty throughout the state, but where can you go to sample Vermont’s best burger? Only In Your State went right to the source and asked local Facebook readers for their number one burger joint recommendations, and you all answered with a top vote for a restaurant called Worthy Burger in the picturesque town of South Royalton.

Burgers are always my go-to when I go out to eat, and when I find a restaurant as good as Worthy Burger, I am in heaven. This unassuming spot features a whole menu full of specialty burgers and hand-cut fries, not to mention a vast selection of craft beer and cocktails. The burgers are made with 100 percent grass-fed beef, and much of the menu is created with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

The restaurant has been a favorite spot since it opened in 2012. While customers are drawn to Worthy Burger for the food, the charm of the establishment is also part of the experience. Housed in an old red freight house, the burger joint is full of cozy vibes and small-town charm. The owners focus on building community and fostering an atmosphere of kindness and respect.

Worthy Burger features everything from a traditional cheeseburger to a falafel burger to a fried chicken sandwich. They even have a Turducky burger on the menu, which is made from succulent turkey and duck confit. Hungry customers can also choose from over 25,000 different combinations to build their own creation! Each burger is cooked over a hardwood fire and is made to order. The ingredients come from farms in nearby Vermont towns such as Northfield, Chelsea, and Plymouth. And because burgers are always better with fries, Worthy Burger offers several different seasoning options in two different sizes. I recommend trying the Parmesan Truffle fries.

Worthy Burger also has a specialty children’s menu, fantastic weekly specials, and even dessert (think cinnamon sugar donuts or apples and cheddar danish). And you shouldn’t leave the restaurant without sampling one of their popular craft beers. Worthy’s rotating menu currently features more than a dozen brews and ciders, including many from the local region. They also mix up a pretty tasty cocktail.

Do you agree that Worthy Burger makes Vermont’s best burger? Or do you have another favorite local burger spot? To view the menu at Worthy Burger, please visit the Worthy Burger website and the Worthy Burger Facebook page. Please note that the restaurant is only open from Thursday to Sunday, so be sure to plan your visit accordingly. Worthy also has a sister site, the Worthy Kitchen, which is located about half an hour away in Woodstock. The Kitchen specializes in outstanding farm-to-table comfort food.
