The Amazing Utah Restaurant You Can Only Get To By Sleigh
Some dining experiences are truly unique. The Viking Yurt in Park City offers such an experience. Check it out!
This once-in-a-lifetime evening starts out with a 23-minute-long ride in a sleigh.
You'll snuggle into the sleigh with blankets to keep you toasty warm, then climb the mountain up to an elevation of 8,700 feet. The views along the way are spectacular.
The lights inside the yurt provide a warm glow against the starry sky.
The journey to this restaurant is magical, but just wait until you walk through the door!
Once you step inside, you'll be greeted with a warm fire...
...and a cup of hot glogg.
Glogg is a wonderful-smelling, non-alcoholic hot drink. It's made with berries, nutmeg, cinnamon and cardamon.
The inside of the yurt is cozy, and you'll enjoy the soft piano music while you chat with the other guests.
Every table is set with candles and pewter dishes.
You'll enjoy a six-course, gourmet meal.
The menu is prepared by a talented chef who makes sure that every dish is perfect.
The leisurely pace of the courses means that you'll have plenty of time to savor your meal.
Then entire dinner takes place over several hours, from 6 PM to 10 PM.
Your meal is served at communal tables, in true Nordic style.
Only 40 guests are seated every evening, so you'll get to know your fellow diners during this special evening.
Try a special liquor from Norway.
Akvavit Linie is a potato-based liquor that tastes like licorice.
At the end of the evening, ride the sleigh back down the mountain, enjoying the starry sky and your memories of this special night.
The Viking Yurt is only open for 3.5 months out of the year, and only offers one dinner per evening. Make your reservations asap; some nights are already booked. For more information, visit the Viking Yurt's website.
