Nestled along the pristine Guadalupe River, The Powerplant Texas Grill is one of the most unique places to dine in the Lone Star State.
You'll find the restaurant on Stockdale Highway in Seguin.
As its name suggests, the eatery is housed in Seguin's former Municipal Power Plant, which dates to the 1890s.
The gristmill operation was a game-changer for its time, providing the city its first water and electric utility systems.
While the building has been renovated, bits and pieces of its rich history still remain.
Couple the charming, old-fashioned atmosphere with an outdoor patio boasting unparalleled riverfront views, and it's no wonder this place is so popular among locals.
All this talk about the ambiance, but how's the food? Well, we're happy to report that it's incredible.
From appetizers like these mouthwatering Southwest Eggrolls with chipotle ranch dressing all the way to handcrafted cocktails, your taste buds are in for a real treat.
Entrees range from juicy, half-pound burgers you can barely fit your mouth around to lighter options such as salads loaded up with fresh, colorful veggies.
Pictured here is the famous "ACDC Burger," a bacon cheeseburger served with homemade potato chips.
Other crowd favorites include pasta, seafood, and every Texan's favorite: chicken-fried steak.
If you opt for the CFS, it's available with either the classic cream gravy or southwest style (queso and pico de gallo on top!)
Round out your meal with a refreshing beverage, from which there are many to choose.
Whether you prefer a margarita, robust old-fashioned, or simple class of wine, there's something for everyone.
