2. KB's BBQ (Victoria)
The owner of KB's, Kevin Broll, is no stranger to the restaurant business. He owned two restaurants and a food truck prior to starting up his current operation, so rest assured you're in for some good eats. Their brisket is slow-cooked for nearly 24 hours and treated with a unique Cajun spice blend, making for an out-of-this-world flavor experience. Other scrumptious options include smoked meatloaf, fully-loaded baked potatoes, and ribeye tacos. Finger-lickin' good, y'all. For more information, visit the Facebook page for KB's BBQ.

3. McMillan's Bar-B-Q (Goliad)
The name of the game at McMillan's is "low and slow:" low heat and long cooking periods to bring out the rich flavors and fatty tissues. His woods of choice to cook over are mesquite, pecan, and oak. The brisket and rib eye are the two bestsellers, and for a side dish, you can't go wrong with the beans.

4. Mumphord's Place (Victoria)
Ricky Mumford learned his tricks of the trade from his father and uncle, self-proclaimed masters of meat. Direct heat is his method of choice, using a combination of mesquite and oak to infuse the thick cuts of meat with an irresistible flavor. His turkey breast has been rated some of the best in the entire country - no surprise considering how much passion he pours into his cooking.

Our last stop is Uncle Mutt's, a fourth-generation family-owned joint. Most customers get the three meat plate with ribs, sausage, and chicken so they can sample a little bit of everything. Everything is smoked over oak wood for hours to bring out all the delicious flavors. Their side selection is enormous, but most popular is Uncle Mutt's Almost World Famous Rice.
