The only thing better than a great restaurant is one with beautiful views to match, and that's exactly what you'll find at the Neches River Wheelhouse in Port Neches.

A local hotspot, "The Wheelhouse," as it's better known, allows guests to dine on fresh seafood while watching boats go by.

Plenty of indoor seating is available, so you can still visit if it's a particularly hot day outside or in the event of inclement weather.

The ambiance imparts a rustic charm complete with nautical décor - but, if possible, we recommend snagging a table outside, instead.

Ideal for watching the sunset, the patio offers stunning vistas of the Neches River and the horizon beyond.

Either marvel at the scenery while you eat, or, if you did end up sitting indoors, head out for a quick peek before you leave. There is a lovely little boardwalk and large grassy area with picnic tables behind the restaurant, so you can stick around for a while after your meal.

As far as the menu, it's exactly what you would expect from a riverfront restaurant.

Seafood is the star of the show, from appetizers like shrimp and crawfish nachos and Gulf oysters to award-winning entrees.

Main dishes range from blackened or grilled fish to their bestselling shrimp and grits.
