This Is the Best Buffet in Texas, Known for Its Southern Comfort Food

As a native Southeast Texan, Southern comfort foods have been staples for as long as I can remember. One of my favorite places to get them is Mama Jack's in Kountze, the best buffet in Texas for homestyle favorites like chicken-fried steak, biscuits and gravy, and banana pudding. I've been eating here since I was a kid, and the quality, service, and selection are unmatched.

Barbara and Jerry Jackson opened this beloved local eatery in the early 1980s, and the couple owned and operated the restaurant for over 40 years.
