One of the many contenders for the best bakery in South Dakota is Winner Bakery, located conveniently in the town of Winner. Its name is wonderfully apropos: This place really IS a winner, and it's a must-do if you're anywhere near this small town.

From the outside, this little mom-and-pop place doesn't necessarily look like much...

...but do NOT let the quaint, unassuming exterior lull you into thinking it's not worth going inside. I promise you: It's worth it!
