Charleston, South Carolina is known for many things, but perhaps none more than its diverse food scene rich with delectable dishes. It was just ranked No. 6 on the list of 10 Top US Cities for Food and Drinks, According to the Experts by Food & Wine. And on another Food & Wine list, the Top 20 Restaurants in the US, According to the Experts, Chubby Fish in Charleston ranked No. 7! We think it's impressive for a restaurant that just opened in 2018 to have not only some of the best food in South Carolina but in the entire country.

Located on Coming Street in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood, Chubby Fish has become the talk of the town in Charleston.

Expect a delicious and different dining experience in an eclectic setting with a comfortable, fun, and vibrant atmosphere.

Along with rave reviews from customers, Chubby Fish has caught the attention of numerous publications. And how exactly does this cute neighborhood eatery stand out from its staunch competition?

For starters, the food is unique, creative, and flavorful. For example, Swordfish Schnitzel with potato purée and caviar butter!

It's really no surprise since the restaurant was opened by Chef James London who also serves as Executive Chef. He was a 2023 finalist for the James Beard Best Chef Southeast award.

The restaurant does not accept reservations, so it's best to arrive when it opens and expect that you may have to wait awhile for a table depending on how busy it is when you go. You can be sure that it will be worth the wait to taste South Carolina's best food.
