Rhode Island is certainly known for its seafood, and that makes perfect sense, considering we are the Ocean State. However, sometimes when you're out and hungry, you find yourself in the mood for something different. Well luckily there is a lot of awesome and diverse cuisine to choose from here! If you find yourself perhaps craving some good old fashioned Southern food, then look no further, because we think we've found some of the best bar-b-que in Rhode Island.
Wes' Rib house is located at 38 Dike Street in Providence.
The first location opened up in 1973 on Broad street, and then ten years later Wes' moved to their current home.
With a large bar to sit at as well as comfy tables, this is a great spot to visit either solo or with a group of pals.
The woody interior with touches of leather and brick is so cozy!
Of course, you don't get a name like Wes' Rib House without serving some killer ribs!
All of their meat is smoked on an open wood fire pit that imparts so much flavor into the meat.
The ribs are slathered in sauce and will leave you stuffed and licking your fingers.
If you aren't in the mood for ribs today, that perfectly okay because the array of meats available at Wes' is positively mind blowing!
You can choose from beef, chicken, chopped bar-b-que pork, lamb chops, pork chops, or flat iron steak.
Or if you're craving something a little lighter, maybe go for the catfish or salmon.
And of course don't forget about all of the scrumptious sides. There is cornbread, garlic bread, beans, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, collard greens, and more! You could make a meal out of the side dishes if you wanted to.
This place sounds like the perfect spot to grab some of the best bar-b-que in Rhode Island. Are you planning a trip sometime soon?
