There's not a lot more fun than enjoying a day out at the zoo solo or with loved ones is there? There's so much excitement in the air about what the animals will be up to and what you'll get to see that day. Luckily, the only zoo in Rhode Island is also one of the best zoos in New England. Roger Williams Park zoo offers rare animals, gorgeous enclosures packed full of enrichment, and the comfort of knowing that the animals are as happy as can be! If you're already familiar with the zoo and its offerings, maybe you want to get a little closer with an animal encounter, perhaps the giant otters? That can be done at one of the zoo's special breakfast events.
This event is perfect for early risers, starting at 8:30 a.m.
You will get to enjoy a lovely breakfast buffet with fruit, pastry, eggs, bacon and potatoes available to fortify you for the morning's adventures.
And of course there is coffee and tea to help you wake up!
After you've finished enjoying breakfast, you will make your way over to the Faces of the Rainforest exhibit to start your encounter with the giant otters.
There are only eight accredited zoos in the USA that house giant otters, so this is a truly special experience.
Not only will you get to help the staff make breakfast for the otters, but you can also partake in creating enrichment toys and tools for some of the other fun residents of the Faces of the Rainforest exhibit.
These animals are truly something special, and getting to watch how the zoo cares for them up close is such a novel thing.
If you enjoy the otters, you can also have similar breakfast encounters with the elephants and moon bears. The zoo has so many awesome ways to get up close and personal with their animals in a safe and responsible way.
Doesn't this seem like an unbeatable experience? This unique animal encounter costs $65 dollars for members to the zoo and $75 for non members. With included breakfast and so much to learn and see, it seems like a steal to us. You can book your breakfast here, but these breakfasts are rare and fill up fast, so make sure to check often! You will also definitely want to follow Roger Williams Park Zoo on Facebook to keep up with events and important updates.
