The Best Fish & Chips In Rhode Island Are Served At This Tiny Hole In The Wall

Amaral's Fish & Chips in Warren, Rhode Island, is a beloved family-owned eatery known for its exceptional fish & chips and casual dining experience.

It isn't hard to find delicious fish & chips in Rhode Island. The Ocean State is a seafood mecca, and fried seafood seems to be a common staple. However, we have yet to find fish & chips as tasty as the kind Amaral's serves. And judging by the local praise, we know we're not alone.

Amaral's Fish & Chips is located in Warren.

This is a family owned and operated eatery, and the locals have loved it since Day 1.

There's no mistaking this for a fine dining spot -- this is as casual as it gets.

While you'll find a few tables inside, most patrons prefer to place their orders to-go.

The fish & chips here are simply out of this world.

There's no secret to the recipe, no fancy ingredients, and nothing secret about the preparation. It's just plain good.

You can choose between two piece of fish or three, both of which come with French fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce.

While the fries can't be replaced, you can always request some onion rings or curly fries to supplement your meal.

While fish & chips are the main attraction, they aren't the only thing on the menu.

Try the clam chowder, the Clamcakes (pictured here) or the Calamari Dinner if you're in the mood for something different.

Amaral's also offers a large selection of grinders, all of which are delicious.

The Amaral family is Portuguese. Until her passing in 2019, Zelia Amaral , the matriarch of the family, would make Portuguese sweet bread each Easter. Fortunately, the menu still has plenty of delicious options.

Amaral's Fish & Chips is currently open every day but Sunday.

They're open Tuesday - Saturday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. and on Mondays from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Where's your favorite place to get fish & chips in Rhode Island? Have you tried them at Amaral's?
