The Amazing Oregon Restaurant You Can Only Get To By Boat

Jantzen Beach Bar & Grill on Hayden Island offers a unique waterfront dining experience with stunning views of the Columbia River.

There's waterfront dining -- and then there's waterfront dining on an island. We're fans of either, but when we're channeling Caribbean vibes here in our little corner of the Pacific Northwest, there's a little coastal restaurant that, pardon the pun, blows everything else out of the water. Located on Oregon's very own island that's only accessible by bridge, boat, or ferry, Jantzen Beach Bar & Grill is a little slice of paradise that's all laid-back vibes and wondrous waterfront scenery. Plan your dining adventure to this gorgeous island restaurant in Oregon now -- it's absolutely worth the effort!

Waterfront living is ubiquitous in Oregon, with the Columbia River providing the perfect place to dock. And just outside of Portland, in the shadow of Mt. Hood, Hayden Island is a popular place for houseboats and floating homes. But the surprising thing about Hayden Island, is that it's actually an island... inside of Oregon!

Other than taking a boat or ferry, the only way on or off the island is via the Interstate Bridge. And if checking out Oregon's only island community isn't enough reason to visit Hayden Island, well, let Jantzen Beach Bar & Grill convince you.

Located in the Holiday Inn on Hayden Island, this restaurant is known for its fresh Pacific Northwest cuisine, served in the most scenic of settings.

There isn't a bad seat in the house, in fact. Whether you opt to pull up for a burger and beer at the bar...

...or take a booth by the windows, you'll enjoy beautiful views of the commanding Columbia River.

You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, either. Feeling brunchy? Breakfast is served until 10 a.m. on the weekdays and 11 a.m. on the weekends. This is the Chicken Fried Steak, which features two eggs, sausage gravy, home fries, and toast.

The restaurant is closed for lunch, but reopens for dinner service each night from 5-9 p.m. The Hawaiian Burger a fan favorite, and offers a delicious taste of the islands, right here in the Pacific Northwest.

Happy hour might be our favorite time to visit Jantzen Beach Bar & Grill, however. With a salty margarita or mint mojito in hand, we could sit and savor these views all night!

And we definitely recommend doing so. Because the sunsets from this little island treasure? Perfection.

Have you been to this island restaurant in Oregon before? Hayden Island really is a little slice of paradise. For more information about Jantzen Beach Bar & Grill, visit the restaurant's website or Facebook page.
