When it comes to quirky eateries, Angie’s Circus City Diner definitely fits the bill! Weirdly wonderful, it's brimming with circus-related memorabilia. From tiny figurines to vintage signage, the circus nods come in all shapes and sizes, making a meal at the diner as memorable as it is satisfying. Take a look:
A true hidden gem, Angie’s Circus City Diner is tucked away in an unassuming brick building in the small town of Hugo.
Opened in 1998, the eatery has become synonymous with southern favorites and home-cooked classics.
In addition to daily specials, such as meatloaf and fried chicken, Angie’s lunch menu features a tasty array that includes everything from seafood and pork chops to sandwiches and burgers.
The dinner menu is just as appetizing. Boasting a mouthwatering variety, it features a slew of options, including steak, all-you-can-eat catfish, and more.
Breakfast and homemade desserts are also part of the delectable offering.
But the delicious food is just part of what makes Angie’s so special. There’s also the quirky décor, which aims to celebrate Hugo’s circus history – a history that dates back to 1937!
Throughout the years, 22 different circuses have called Hugo home. And you can learn a great deal about the city’s past by perusing the walls of Angie’s, which are covered in memorabilia.
Vintage advertisements and pictures are just a few of the items you’ll find plastered on the eatery’s interior.
But the memorabilia isn’t limited to the walls. There are lots of items displayed on shelves and ledges throughout the restaurant.
