Do you ever have those days where you're just craving something sweet, but nothing quite hits the spot? Let me introduce you to the sweet tooth's new best friend: the gourmet milkshake. This concept has taken lovers of all things sweet by storm, infusing pastries, candy, and ice cream into one simple concept. And nobody in the Cleveland area does gourmet milkshakes quite like one Northeast Ohio pastry shop out in Medina. Armed with small town charm, a vision, and a passion for sweet treats, Frosted Cake Shoppe is the perfect way to end a weekend trip. Check it out:
Just barely south of Historic Medina Square sits an assuming strip mall with a super sweet secret.
If you've never been to Medina, then you'll have to budget time for a visit this year! This charming small-town suburb is overflowing with old school charm. It also has dozens of secrets that only in-the-know locals are aware of. Ever heard of Orville and Wilbur Wright? Before the rest of the world heard about their historic flight, one Medina resident published an account of the feat in his own publication. To this very day, this city awaits an opportunity to surprise you.
This is Frosted Cake Shoppe, and it's a real treat for the taste buds.
It's also a totally heartwarming business. It opened in 2019 originally, but the pandemic took its toll... it closed in March of 2020. However, one 18-year-old pastry decorator at the shop decided to buy it, and it reopened in June that year.
As the name implies, many visitors come here for cakes.
From wedding cakes to special occasion pastries, there's something here for everyone. Plus, their pricing options won't break the bank! Cupcakes start at just $3, and the smallest cake size is offered at $22.
But cakes are just one of many incredible offerings at this cool Medina bakery.
Brownie bars, cakesicles, cookie sandwiches, and other delicacies are also on the menu. Oh, and there's also the milkshakes, which locals simply can't stop talking about.
Of course, since February of 2022, their gourmet milkshakes have also been a huge draw.
As it comes in a glass jar, you'll want to budget time to enjoy this yummyness on-site. It comes piled high with a massive mountain of toppings, so you might even consider sharing it!
If you're in a hurry, you can also grab a milkshake to-go... but believe me, those glass jars just add something to this experience!
From decadent chocolates to lighter and fruitier flavors, there's a decent variety of options to delight your taste buds. Whether you enjoy your milkshake at the storefront or grab one for the road, remember that these treats are best enjoyed with friends.
As Frosted Cake Shoppe is still a relative newcomer in this old-fashioned town, many have yet to experience its gourmet offerings.
It's just outside of Medina Square, so you can swing by before or after your day of adventures. If you're hoping to keep this place on your radar for your next trip to Medina, connect with Frosted Cake Shoppe on Facebook.
