With An Outdoor Play Area, This Incredible Restaurant In Cleveland Is Perfect For Families
If you're looking for an unforgettable experience, Hofbräuhaus Cleveland is a destination that just can't be beat. Located in Playhouse Square and boasting the Hermit Club on-site (which is the the nation’s oldest continuously operating private club devoted to amateur performing arts, dating back to 1904), this restaurant is right in the heart of one of the city's most vivid neighborhoods. Believe it or not, Hofbräuhaus Cleveland is also family-friendly! This charming dining destination is an experience like no other, so don your pierogi merch and start working up an appetite now. It's calling your name!
If you're looking for comfort food and a good time, Hofbräuhaus Cleveland is always a hit.
This lovely destination in Playhouse Square is actually a franchise... six other locations in the U.S. are ready to entertain guests, while the Hofbräu München back in Munich brews all their European recipes. The tradition dates back to 1589, when Wilhelm V, Duke of Bavaria, and his court founded the very first Hofbräuhaus.
The Cleveland location is seeped in Bavarian tradition, with architectural nods to the Old World inside and out.
While brews are part of the appeal here, this destination is surprisingly family friendly. Families love the ambiance and food, and little ones love to marvel at the many flags and the massive chandelier that's often draped in hops garlands and other accoutrements.
Like any commendable Cleveland business, pierogies are a staple of their menu.
Personally, I can't visit Hofbräuhaus without ordering a plate of pierogies. These potato and cheese dumplings are provided by Pierogies of Cleveland, a local brand that sources their potatoes from a local farm in Hiram, Ohio.
But there's so much more on the menu to dig into!
The delicacy pictured here is Jaegerschnitzel, a pork schnitzel topped with mushroom gravy, bacon, and onion straws. It's one of many different schnitzel offerings, and just one of many delicacies on the menu that visitors rave about.
There's also a kids menu to ensure all visitors have something delicious to look forward to.
Choose from familiar options like cheeseburgers, hot dogs, pretzels, and chicken tenders, or opt for more indulgent options like spaetzle and cheese or a cinnamon sugar pretzel. Fries or applesauce come with each kids entree, so even the little ones will leave full and happy!
If you dine at the outdoor biergarten, don't be surprised if you catch the kids eyeing up the playground.
Fenced in and easy to keep an eye on, this outdoor playground is the perfect place for little diners to get some energy out before or after dinner.
If you dine inside, you just might find yourself dragged into a game of I Spy.
With all sorts of elements nodding to the OG Hofbräuhaus back in Europe, kids will have no shortage of oddities to keep them entertained. The long tables, massive space, and frequent music performances create an experience like no other.
There's so much to love about this cool restaurant in Cleveland.
