Pastime Steakhouse Is At Least An Hour From Every Major City In North Dakota But Worth The Drive To Get There

The Pastime Club & Steakhouse in Marmarth, North Dakota offers a surprisingly gourmet dining experience despite its remote location.

You might have to do quite a bit of driving to get to this remote restaurant, but it's worth the miles. Located in the very southwest corner of the state, it's over an hour to any major North Dakota city — even at least half an hour to other towns. But despite its middle-of-nowhere location, the food rivals that of big-city eateries. Take a look for yourself:

Marmarth, North Dakota — once a bustling city, now a near-ghost town. At its height, it had more than 1,000 residents, but now approximately 140. Many of the buildings here are empty shells, but there is still some life in the town.

When driving through this remote place, you might see a sign for the Pastime Club & Steakhouse — notably saying to have been featured on a prominent food TV channel. That alone should tell you it's worth checking out, but here's some more information if you need convincing.

The Pastime Club & Steakhouse is a restaurant that has kept on going and is still busy as ever despite its location. It is welcoming both inside and out and may surprise you with its menu.

This isn't just some small town bar and grill. This restaurant could rival those of big city restaurants with an impressive selection of gourmet food, a lovely dining area, and more.

If you plan on going on the weekend, you might just want to make reservations ahead of time — it can actually get that busy, even though it's that far out from any major city. All of this is for good reason, too.

Start off your meal with an appetizer such as escargot, stuffed mushrooms, or rumake. Everything is masterfully prepared by the restaurant's chef.

Continue onto the next course with steak, pasta, salads, sandwiches, and much more. All of the options are nothing short of fantastic.

Try a bacon bleu burger for lunch, or get a classic chicken dinner for the evening. You wouldn't expect such an amazing fine dining experience this far from any urban environment, and yet the Pastime beats the odds. It's worth the trip and then some.

The Pastime Club & Steakhouse is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Address: 118 Main Street, Marmarth, ND, 58643
