Experience All Things Maple Syrup At This All-Day Event In North Dakota
Fresh maple syrup — what could be better? Maple syrup probably brings the thought of our northernly neighbor to mind, but did you know that there are places that make maple syrup right here in North Dakota? Not only that — you can experience all things maple syrup during a special annual event at one of the state parks.
At Fort Stevenson State Park, located near Garrison, North Dakota, there is an annual event called the Maple Sugaring Day and it's all things maple syrup and sugar!
This event starts at 9 a.m. and goes on until 3 p.m. on April 13, 2019. The event includes activities for all ages, especially hands-on activities for kids so it's a great family event. Kids will learn how to do everything from drilling a tap into a maple tree to making the resulting syrup into tasty treats.
Along with maple syrup fun, the event includes other things like horse-drawn wagon rides and live music.
Of course, you won't just be watching maple syrup be made — you get to eat some, too! One of the tastiest treats you'll have wish you had heard about earlier in life is the downright delicious maple cotton candy, which will be available during the event.
The homemade batches of syrup will be used in demonstrations and also during a pancake breakfast first thing in the morning on the day of the event. What is better than fresh, North Dakota maple syrup on hot pancakes?
You can learn how to make maple sugar and tasty sugar snow and indulge on some while you're there. It's a super sweet, fun event that the entire family will enjoy, and it's right here in North Dakota.
The Maple Sugaring Day will be on April 13, 2019, at Fort Stevenson State Park. The park is located at 1252 41st Ave. NW, Garrison, ND 58540. For more information on this event, click here.
