North Dakota has so many restaurants, it's hard to make the time to try them all. This state has family restaurants, steakhouses, pizza places, seafood, ethnic restaurants - the list goes on and on. There are big names of restaurants everyone knows and hidden gems that deserve more recognition all across the prairie.
Throughout this year, we have been sharing about many of these unique Peace Garden State dining spots. Even if you didn't get the chance to experience them in 2017, 2018 is full of new opportunities. Make this your New Years North Dakota restaurant bucket list of places to visit:
1. The Lunchbox Eatery - Fort Ransom
This adorable little restaurant is located in the heart of a river valley and right next to one of the prettiest state parks in North Dakota. They serve a whole lot more than just lunch, including dinner and breakfast options that are amazingly tasty.
2. Pastime Club & Steakhouse - Marmath
This is one of the most remote restaurants in North Dakota. Located in a half-dead town in the furthest southwest corner of the state, it may be a bit of a drive, but it's totally worth it. The Pastime Club & Steakhouse is like entering a five star restaurant in the middle of a city. Steaks, pasta, burgers, even escargot! And it's in the middle of nowhere, ND.
3. Fireflour Pizza - Bismarck
Skip the chain pizza places and discover how amazing a Neapolitan pizza shop is at Fireflour. This lovely eatery bakes all of their pizzas in a huge wood fire oven and has countless flavors and toppings options. They even have gelato to end off your meal with a tasty dessert.
4. Mango's Mexican and American Grill - Fargo
Mango's may not look like much from the outside, but it's what's inside that makes it the favorite Mexican food place in the area. Their mouthwatering meals are every Mexican food lover's dream, and for those who have party members that don't want tacos or enchiladas, Mango's has plenty of American - and mixed - options available.
5. Elevation - Minot
If you're looking for dinner with a view, Elevation is the prime destination. Located on the edge of a golf course and overlooking the rolling hills and greens, this restaurant has plenty of drool-worthy options to go with the panoramic scenery.
6. The Boiler Room - Fargo, Wahpeton
This totally unique restaurant is located underneath a historic building in downtown Fargo, ND. It follows the industrial theme that comes with the location perfectly inside and out. Their meals are extra tasty as well, each classic options with unusual twists that makes them so interesting and yummy. There is also a newer location in Wahpeton, ND.
7. Trapper's Kettle - Belfield
Head out to the edge of the Little Missouri National Grassland and stop by this quirky and fun restaurant. If you love hunting, that's what this restaurant is all about - and making delicious food, of course!
8. The Cajun Cafe - Fargo
You wouldn't expect this little restaurant to be one of the most popular breakfast spots in the biggest city in North Dakota. The Cajun Cafe has more than just awesome Cajun cuisine, and eating here will prove to you why.
9. Theodore's Dining Room - Medora
If you're taking a trip to the beautiful town of Medora, you'll want to stop by Theodore's Dining Room for one of the fanciest dinners you'll ever have. Their menu has fantastic options and the room itself is simply stunning.
10. Space Aliens - Bismarck, Fargo
You might do a double take when you first pass by this restaurant, but when you try it out you'll realize the fun in it. Space Aliens takes its theme to astronomical levels with quirky decor, fun foods, and plenty of unusual things to see and do inside.
