If you're wondering who judges this sort of thing, the panel was made up of beer reps, brewmasters, professional beer writers and brewery owners. The blind judges ranked the beers on a scale from 1-100, with the scores being averaged for a final ranking.
The magazine recognized Prison City Pub's barleywine for having a juicy, citrus-forward flavor that was refreshing among the rest.
