Beekman Tower was built in 1928. It’s an Art Deco structure on the East River that initially was referred to as the Panhellenic Tower. Before it was renamed the Beekman Tower, it served as a women's only club and hotel for Greek sororities. When it comes to its interior design, the lounge does indeed have a charming Art Deco feel. Their decor includes plenty of great memorabilia from the era, things like flapper hats and tarot cards.

For the most part, the crowd here ranges from those in the later part of their 20s to those in their early 40s. Visitors won’t find any kids here! The food is just as thoughtful and refined as the decor: small, elevated bar bites that, when put together, make a great meal. We recommend going with the “Taste of the Tower (for two),” which has six different components, including crispy prawn tacos, French onion sliders, and butternut squash phyllo bites. Oh, and don't forget the truffle fries—these are a real crowd pleaser!

The drink menu, too, isn’t huge, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in its focus and elegance. One of our favorites is the Caribbean Old Fashioned, which is made with El-Dorado rum and is a tropical take on a cocktail staple. Then there is the Pain Killa, which combines Don Julio silver tequila with ginger and lemon.
