The Pancakes At This New Mexico Restaurant Are So Gigantic They Fall Off The Plate
Old Tymers Cafe in Red River offers massive, delicious pancakes and a charming rustic dining experience.
Red River is a little mountain town known for its superb slopes and splendid trails but did you know it is also home to an old-timey restaurant with pancakes bigger than your head?
Humble and rustic, the aptly named Old Tymers Cafe sits right along the main street in Red River. It's a charming little place both outside...
...and inside. Warm wood tones don the walls, floors, and ceilings, and Tiffany-style pendant lights hang above tables.
Grab a table and be prepared for the pancake meal of your lifetime.
The pancakes served here are massive.
Fluffy, perfectly brown, and practically falling off the plate, this is a meal capable of satisfying any voracious tummy. You can opt for a plain ol' buttermilk pancake or make things a little fancier with blueberry, chocolate chip, or multigrain.
Just to show you these pancakes aren't being served on dinky little salad plates, here's a look at an adult hand hovering over the pancake for scale.
The pancakes are also well-priced. One plain buttermilk pancake will cost you less than $4 and you can order up to three of these bad boys.
Not a pancake fan? That's okay!
Old Tymers Cafe also serves some delicious French toast stuffed with mascarpone and topped with powdered sugar.
Good luck finishing a plateful of these monstrous pancakes! Have you had a chance to dine here?
