Unfortunately, New Hampshire doesn't have a reputation as the most diverse state – and that reputation extends to the food. But while outsiders might believe it's all boiled dinners up here in the north, that couldn't be further from the truth. While we've had well-represented international cuisines like Chinese, Indian, and Thai in New Hampshire for decades, in the last few years a number of new restaurants representing a wide variety of cuisines have opened up in the Granite State, and we're all benefiting from both the delicious food and the exposure to different cultures. If you haven't tried these cuisines yet, know that it's easier than ever to do so right here in New Hampshire!
1. Nepali
There are a surprising number of Nepali immigrants in New Hampshire, and that's giving us the opportunity to try one of the most delectable charges out there. If you like Indian food, you'll absolutely adore this. Try it for yourself at Cafe Momo, located at 1065 Hanover St, Manchester, NH 03104.
2. Peruvian
If you haven't had the Spanish delicacy of paella, you'll find the best place to try it in all of New Hampshire at a sweet little cafe in Wilton. The chef at Sky Bridge Cafe is Peruvian and an expert in Spanish and Latin cuisines alike, but the focus of the restaurant is on the delicious rice dish, which he prepares in a number of creative iterations. Try it at 10 Main St.
Wilton, New Hampshire.
3. Brazilian
If you've never indulged in traditional Brazilian Rodizio (barbecue), you're in for a real treat. Heaping portions of meat grilled on skewers and scrumptious sides makes for a satisfying meal indeed. Find an all you can eat buffet of this delight at Sabor Brasil in Nashua, which is located at 42 Canal St, Nashua, NH 03064.
4. Turkish
When you first try Turkish food, you'll wonder why it's not on every street in America. The well-balanced flavors and perfect mixture of meat and vegetable dishes make it a great choice for even picky eaters looking to broaden their palates. You're sure to love what you eat if you head to Matbah Mediterranean Cuisine, located at 866 Elm St, Manchester, NH 03101.
