The Timeless Nevada Restaurant Everyone Needs To Visit At Least Once
The Peppermill Restaurant and Fireside Lounge in Las Vegas is a timeless and iconic dining spot known for its unique decor and enormous portions.
Located at 2985 Las Vegas Blvd. So. stands perhaps the most timeless Nevada restaurant and most iconic restaurant in all of Las Vegas. The Peppermill Restaurant and Fireside Lounge stands today where it has stood for 45 years. Even though its former neighbor—the Riviera Hotel—has since been imploded (as well as the Silver Slipper Casino that used to stand across the street), the Peppermill's longevity attests to its iconic standing in Sin City and its tremendous food.
The Peppermill has been featured in several films such as Casino, Showgirls, and The Cotton Club, and has had its share of famous diners like Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Floyd Mayweather, Criss Angel, and Guy Fieri. Magician and Vegas staple Penn Jillette loves the Peppermill so much, he had a custom booth modeled after one of the Peppermill's crafted and installed in his home. Talk about a timeless Nevada restaurant tribute!
The famous Peppermill Restaurant and Fireside Lounge opened on 26 December 1972 and remains an iconic reminder of how the Las Vegas Strip used to be (you know, before historic hotels and casinos were imploded left and right.)
The decor is quite interesting, complete with mirrors on the ceiling.
Back in the day, there wasn't as much neon.
The decor is definitely unique and oh so Vegas.
The Peppermill's bar area...
...and famous fire pit.
Pictured: French Toast Ambrosia, one of the Peppermill's original dishes. Now that's a yummy looking breakfast.
Pictured: A ridiculously enormous 16-oz ham steak with three eggs and hash browns (because it's always time for breakfast in Las Vegas.)
Pictured: The famous nachos at the Peppermill. When I lived in Las Vegas many, many moons ago, it was a tradition to take visiting friends and family members to the Peppermill for their stellar nachos. Now, 30 years later, I continue to drag people there for the nachos.
I couldn't resist another picture of their nachos. Seriously, they're the best nachos in the history of nachos and probably my absolute favorite "meal" in all of Las Vegas.
The Peppermill has some of the best burgers in all of Vegas, like this amazing pastrami burger.
There are plenty of healthy (healthier, at least) options like this southwest chicken salad; however, like everything else, it's insanely huge.
Everything on the menu is enormous, including dessert (which is not necessarily a bad thing.)
There is truly something for everyone - even the kids
Just like the food, the beverages are ample. Award-winning, scratch-made Bloody Mary's anyone?
The Peppermill's famous 64-oz Scorpion. Definitely a cocktail to share!
