The Restaurant In Nevada That Was Named One Of The Best In The World

Condé Nast Traveler just published their list of the greatest restaurants around the world, and surprisingly only one restaurant was added to the list for Nevada. However patrons of this restaurant are sure to agree that it's a clear choice for one of the best eateries in the world.

Raku is well-loved among Las Vegas locals. Even the best chefs working at famous restaurants on the Strip go to Raku and proclaim their love for it.

Unlike the "trendy" restaurants in Vegas, Raku is not located on the Strip, but rather in the Chinatown district of Las Vegas on Spring Mountain Road.

The full name of the restaurant is "Aburiya Raku" which in Japanese means "Charcoal Grill House Enjoyment."

Raku specializes in authentic Japanese cuisine and everything is served fresh to your table.

The owner chef is Mitsuo Endo, born in Tokyo. Prior to Raku he's opened amazing Japanese restaurants in Seattle and New York.

Raku is known for being extremely busy and reservations are almost a must to get a table. It's also open til 3 am which is terrific for late night shift workers and night owls in Las Vegas.

Raku gets raves from diners for its silky homemade tofu.

If you're brand new to Japanese cuisine, you can try the Omakase menu option, where all of the dishes are selected by the chef and brought out to you.

The sushi is top notch, with daily specials like this blue fin tuna special of the day.

The restaurant has won several awards and nominations for their delectable cuisine.

Raku is small but the decor is cozy and intimate with many lovely touches. There's even a fish tank in the restroom with rose petals sprinkled on the floors!

Raku is located at 5030 West Spring Mountain Road, Suite 2 in Las Vegas and is open 6 pm to 3 am every day except Sundays. Raku Sweets is at 5040 West Spring Mountain Road, Suite 3 and is open Monday thru Friday 6 pm to 12 am, Saturday 12 pm to 12 am, and Sunday 12 pm to 9 pm. It's closed on Wednesday and holidays. Reservations are definitely recommended!
