Starting and running a business is a challenging journey. However, surprisingly (and happily!) that difficult and uncertain time actually played a huge part in some individuals realizing their small business dreams. Such is the case for the owners of Get Sauced NV in Pioche, Nevada.

Get Sauced NV serves up a creative menu featuring freshly barbecued meats, sides, and desserts from a fun and unexpected location - a colorful refurbished school bus - and it has become a big hit.

Owner and chef Greg Anderson had always dreamed of cooking for a living. Living and working in Las Vegas since 2004, he faced a major change of circumstances when the pandemic hit and his employer was forced to downsize. Anderson was offered and accepted a generous severance package, but that was just half the story.

With the housing market still booming in the area, he and his wife were able to sell their home for nearly triple what they had paid for it. The stage was set for a life-changing decision. The couple had spent years vacationing in Pioche and had fallen in love with the community and the slower pace of life. They decided to make this their new home and to finally cook for a living.

Anderson wanted to offer something new and different to Lincoln County and decided to bring BBQ to the community.

This family-owned and operated eatery has come to be known affectionately as “the barbecue bus,” which is exactly where you can find Anderson most days doing what he loves most.

If you know anything about Anderson’s work ethic, it is no wonder that Get Sauced NV has gained a loyal following. His process requires hard work and is very time consuming, but he refuses to cut corners.

“We take pride in everything we do,” he says. “I believe the difference between success and failure in the restaurant business is knowing that nothing will be handed to you. The second you cut corners, your customers will notice the product is lacking. I strive to make sure that never happens.”

As you will see when you visit the restaurant’s Facebook page, this is “Nacho typical BBQ.” You can, of course, enjoy traditional grilled favorites like baby back ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, tri-tip, etc.

You will also find a delightful bit of creativity on the menu such as the BBQ Tacos with either pulled pork or chicken and daily specials like Grown-Up Grilled Cheese, Big Boy Quesadilla, and the very popular Loaded Baked Potato. And don’t forget Chef Anderson’s signature sides!

If you visit the BBQ bus, be sure to save a little room for one of the fresh homemade desserts such as peach cobbler, Grandma’s carrot cake, or one of the delicious mini bundt cakes.

Get Sauced NV also offers catering for almost any occasion - weddings, funerals, birthdays, production companies, local road work crews, and more.

They have also been known to cook Thanksgiving dinner and deliver meals to the community, bringing a smile to the faces of many who couldn’t or didn’t want to make their own holiday meals. If the reviews are any indication, Get Sauced NV is here to stay.
