Magic Is Brewing At Chippy’s, A British-Themed Market And Bakery In Nebraska

Chippy's Omaha opened in 2021, then a second location opened in Lincoln in 2022.

The cheerful exterior with its red phone box will draw you in and make you want to find out what's waiting inside.

And what's waiting inside is pretty exceptional.

There are British goodies packing the retail area. If you've never had British candy, you're in for a pleasant surprise. The chocolate there tastes very different to the chocolate we're used to in American sweets, and the flavors are creative and fun.

Be prepared to speak the King's English while you're here.

These crunchy snacks are called crisps, not chips. Enjoy the English-themed decor as you wander the aisles. Pick up a few unique gifts or some grocery items that will quickly become your new favorites.

Although the store isn't entirely Harry Potter-themed, there's tons of memorabilia all around.

The sorting hat, Harry's suitcase, and other display items will transport you to Hogwarts. You can immerse yourself in the world of wizards with a chocolate frog, a new wand, or even...

A frosty mug of butterbeer.

This tasty beverage is sweet, satisfying, and extremely popular. If butterbeer isn't your thing, you can also choose from favorites like Ribena, a fizzy lime and lemon, or even a seaside shake.

The menu has all kinds of authentic British cuisine that you'd have a very hard time finding anywhere else in Nebraska. Start your day with a full English breakfast or bacon butty, or take a Cornish pasty or two home with you.

Good Scotch eggs are quite difficult to come by in this part of the world, but you can get a fresh one at Chippy's.

The savory treat consists of a boiled egg wrapped in sausage, rolled in breadcrumbs, and baked or fried. It's not an everyday treat, to be sure, but it's an indulgence you won't soon forget.

And the desserts...oh, the desserts.

Bakewell tarts (pictured above) are little pieces of Heaven, and you can get them fresh at Chippy's. Other sweet treats include jam tarts, sticky toffee pudding, and the world-famous "99" ice cream (complete with a Cadbury Flake, of course).
