No matter what time of year it is, a tall, frosty milkshake is one of the most perfect desserts out there. While you could opt for a drive-thru shake, why not treat yourself? Stop by this Omaha restaurant for a milkshake like no other.

The Hunger Block is a relatively new Latin American restaurant in Omaha.

And because we know you're curious, here's how the restaurant's owners explain the unusual name: "Many Latin American cities have a particular street/block where locals go to grab a quick bite for lunch, snack, dinner or after hours. We call it "La Calle El Hambre" which translates to 'The Hunger Street/Block.'"

The place is known for its authentic Latin American cuisine that includes classic dishes as well as street food-type treats.

We definitely recommend eating here for lunch or dinner, but don't forget to save room for some of the biggest, craziest milkshakes you've ever seen.

The special milkshake concoctions here are absolutely unbelievable. They're so big that they could be meals on their own.

These are no wimpy drive-thru milkshakes. They're thick, creamy, full of flavor...

...and buried under a massive amount of crazy toppings.

This shake with an ice cream cone on top is relatively tame compared to most of the milkshakes at The Hunger Block.

This diner's face says it all. This shake is buried beneath a donut, an ice cream cone, a scoop of ice cream, and a huge dollop of whipped cream.

They look plenty impressive in pictures, but just wait until one of these bad boys makes its way to your table. You won't be able to stop the look of astonishment that will creep onto your face.

You may want to bring a friend or two to help you polish off this enormous treat. Or just have one to yourself as a meal...no one will judge.

The special milkshake is always changing, so you'll just have to stop in frequently to try every new version!

The Hunger Block is located at 11036 Elm St, Omaha, NE. It's open Monday-Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Check out the restaurant's website or Facebook page for more information, including the mouthwatering menu.
