This Log Cabin Barbecue Spot In Nebraska Has Been Serving Delicious Eats Since 2010
You would think that one of the most popular barbecue places in Bellevue - Nebraska’s oldest city - would boast a long and storied history featuring founders wearing raccoon-skin caps or something - at least, that’s how I picture it in my mind. That's not the case with this barbecue spot in Nebraska, though.
The BBQ spot near Olde Towne Bellevue called Swine Dining has only been around since 2010.
Personally, I think that any locally-owned restaurant that made it through the pandemic (and even expanded to a second location in Omaha!) deserves some recognition. But Swine Dining did more than merely survive during the pandemic - the eatery flourished.
What started as a food truck is now a reasonably-priced BBQ joint that is typically swarming with military personnel from Offutt Air Force Base, adjacent to Bellevue.
People love the “Burnt Ends” and pulled pork sandwiches for which Swine Dining is known.
Located in a cute log cabin on Mission Avenue in Bellevue, this Nebraska BBQ place is tough to miss.
Just look for the stand-up display of the man with the BBQ sign. I can only imagine this is a photo of one of the owners, but I like to think it’s the friend of an owner who lost a bet or something.
Eat in, take out, or order catering from this popular Nebraska BBQ joint.
Bellevue is so close to the Iowa border that it’s not unheard of for people to cross state lines to come grab some ribs from Swine Dining.
Would it be Midwest BBQ without some cheese curds?
Other side dishes available include smoked beans, potato salad, smoked mac and cheese, cornbread, and more.
Though Swine Dining is really known for its pulled pork and burnt ends, it also offers smoked sausage and some chicken-based dishes.
The menu has a delightful array of choices, which is a bit of a surprise for a Nebraska BBQ restaurant because typically, these eateries focus on one thing and stick to it.
Whenever I find myself in Bellevue, I try to schedule a stop at Swine Dining. Olde Towne Bellevue is charming, but Swine Dining adds a delicious option to this historic area. And if you plan to make a trip out of it, VRBO has some great options for places to stay!
