Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant in Leipers Fork, Tennessee was once a small, out-of-the-way place in the Nashville countryside that attracted neighbors and passersby. Of course, it still has that small town charm, but now it's a destination for locals and tourists alike.
What once operated as the Leipers Fork Puckett’s Grocery has become an award-winning restaurant and live music venue with multiple locations. There's now Puckett's Restaurants in Nashville, Chattanooga, Columbia, and Franklin.
The interior is humble and homey, with just enough room for your friends and family to nosh on southern classics while listening to live music.
You'll find breakfast with buttermilk biscuits and sausage and griddle pancakes, served until 11 a.m., with lunch and dinner menus following. If you come for the later, more savory part of the day, then a solid cheeseburger or a plate lunch is highly recommended. Their Cajun corn cakes are sleeper hits, as are their veggie sides. Yum!
Puckett's opened as a tiny country store in 1953, and look at it now. It's been featured on a national level, including features in Garden and Gun and Southern Living, and continues to steal the hearts of Tennesseans and tourists.
Leipers Fork itself is the only historic district you'll find on The Natchez Trace, so the small town has become a true legend. It's located right on the small town's main street, which means if you're looking for a small town evening in the heart of the American south, it's right here in Leipers Fork. Add a plate of bbq? And you're set!
You can visit Leipers Fork's pride and joy every day of the week, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m .on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and until 9 p.m. on Wednesday. You'll find that it closes a bit earlier on Sundays, at 7 p.m.
