This Local Hidden Gem Restaurant Makes Flowed The Chili Capital Of Mississippi

Chili is the ultimate cold-weather comfort food. When you’ve got a craving for a hearty bowl of chili, there’s one unique spot that’s home to some of the best chili in Mississippi, and you won’t believe where it is. It’s a pizza joint, of all places! Let’s check it out:

I know what you're thinking. The best chili is at a pizza restaurant?

Yep. You would never think so, but plenty of locals can confirm this!

Soulshine Pizza is known for its pizza, but the talented chefs in the kitchen are always taking things to new levels.

The first Soulshine Pizza opened in Flowood, Mississippi in 2001. Over the years, they’ve been able to expand and open up new locations in Ridgeland, Mississippi and Franklin, Tennessee

No matter which location you visit, the menus are fairly similar and the vibes are just as welcoming as you’d expect.

Nods to Mississippi's musical history adorn the walls here at the Ridgeland location. Each location has its own unique atmosphere, but in general, you'll have the same experience at any of the three locations.

As you might suspect, Soulshine slings some delicious pizza.

There are over 10 signature pizzas on the menu, plus a lengthy list of signature sandwiches, garden fresh salads, entrees, and more.

Sunshine Pizza also has some extraordinary tamales that are worth trying! This place is constantly full of surprises.

But the real hidden gem on the menu is the chili.

Available in a bowl or a cup. This chili is homemade, slow-cooked, and is made with both beans and beef.

Served with saltines, this is the ultimate comfort food, hiding in plain sight!

Pro tip: get the breadsticks from the appetizer section of the menu so you can dip the breadsticks into the chili. Game changer.

A meal this unexpectedly awesome deserves to end on a sweet note.

Soulshine Pizza always has at least two desserts to choose from: the bread pudding and the brownie. You can't go wrong with either, but I'm a sucker for chocolate, so I'd get the brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

We think this pizzeria is easily worth a road trip from any corner of the state. Have you ever tried the chili at Soulshine Pizza?

Visit the Soulshine Pizza website to see a menu for each location, and don't forget to follow Soulshine Pizza on Facebook so you never miss out on any specials.
