Several years ago, Lin Carruth set out to open a shop, selling artwork, gifts, and more. However, fate had another plan and the shop soon grew to include the Coffee Pot Café.
Officially named Creekside Mercantile, the shop along with the cafe can be found at 120 W Bridge Street in Enterprise.
Surprisingly enough, this isn’t the first coffee pot-inspired café in Mississippi. The original was also established by the Carruth family.
Located in Brookhaven, the café was opened in 1930 and stayed in business through three generations of the Carruth family.
Though the new building is much different than the Brookhaven version, it still contains a giant coffee pot, making it practically impossible to miss.
The charming interior is filled with little wooden tables covered in colorful tablecloths, beautiful artwork, antiques, and unique décor.
Described as a "quaint little Enterprise restaurant with Louisiana flair," the Coffee Pot Café serves up a tasty variety – all of which is made from scratch.
Even though the menu changes daily, it does include a few constants, such as homemade gumbo, shrimp Creole, etouffee, jambalaya, chicken salad, and po’ boys.
Other permanent menu items include the Driftwood, a signature hamburger creation served on a po’ boy bun, as well as a grilled cheese made with old fashioned hoop cheese.
An enticing assortment of homemade desserts is also available each day.
From decadent brownies to tasty pies, there’s sure to be something to satisfy your sweet tooth.
You can even stock up on delicious homemade food to take home with you.
Hoop cheese, fresh ground coffee, baked goods, and red beans and rice are just a few of the items available for sale.
After filling up on great food, spend some time looking around the gift shop. You’ll find a variety of odds and ends that includes everything from antiques to locally produced items.
With good food, reasonable prices, and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s nearly impossible to not fall in love with the Coffee Pot Café.
